About the role
We are seeking an experienced Production Controller to join our manufacturing operations in Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of our production schedules. As Production Controller, you will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring all aspects of the production process, from planning and scheduling through to delivery. This role is essential to maintaining our operational excellence, meeting customer deadlines, and optimising resource utilisation across our manufacturing facility.
Key responsibilities
Develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring optimal sequencing of manufacturing orders and efficient utilisation of production capacity
Monitor production progress against planned schedules and identify variances, implementing corrective actions as needed
Coordinate with manufacturing, planning, procurement and logistics teams to ensure seamless production workflow and on-time delivery
Manage material availability and supply chain coordination to support production requirements
Analyse production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for process improvement
Prepare and communicate regular production reports to senior management, highlighting performance metrics and any issues requiring escalation
Liaise with quality assurance and engineering teams to resolve production-related issues and ensure product specifications are met
Maintain accurate production records, work orders and scheduling documentation in line with company procedures
Collaborate with demand planning to balance production capacity with customer requirements and forecast demand
What we're looking for
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in production planning, scheduling or production control within a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of production planning principles, including demand forecasting, capacity planning and schedule optimisation
Proven proficiency with production control software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify issues and develop practical solutions
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments
Attention to detail and accuracy in data management and reporting
Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively as part of a team
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies is preferred
Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain or related field is advantageous
Priority given to electronic manufacturing, SMT, FATP, and server assembly.
Languages: Mandarin,English.
