AIX Level 3 Engineer (Senior UNIX Platform Engineer)

Experience: 7–12 years

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Level 3 SME for IBM AIX platforms supporting mission-critical systems.
• Administer and maintain IBM AIX on Power Systems, including installation, upgrades, patching, migrations, and performance tuning.
• Manage PowerVM, PowerHA, LPARs, LVM, filesystems, and high availability environments.
• Provide advanced support for Linux (RHEL/SUSE/Oracle Linux) and UNIX platforms; Solaris knowledge is an added advantage.
• Troubleshoot complex OS, storage, network, and performance issues.
• Support incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), disaster recovery (DR), backup, and change management activities.
• Implement OS hardening, security patching, and ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 7–12 years of UNIX administration experience with at least 5 years of hands-on AIX experience.
• Strong knowledge of IBM AIX, Linux, UNIX, PowerVM, PowerHA, LVM, and performance tuning.
• Experience supporting enterprise or banking environments is preferred.
• Solaris platform knowledge and IBM AIX/Power Systems or RHCE/RHCSA certifications are advantageous.
