Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technician / Maintenance Foreman to oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment in an induction motor manufacturing factory. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring machinery operates efficiently through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment installation, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems. The role also involves managing maintenance documentation, spare parts inventory, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) on production machinery and factory equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose equipment breakdowns and restore operations with minimal downtime.
  • Ensure all machinery operates safely and efficiently.

Equipment Installation & Improvement

  • Install, commission, relocate, and modify production machinery and equipment.
  • Assist in factory layout changes and machine improvement projects.
  • Recommend and implement equipment improvements to increase productivity and reliability.

Welding & Fabrication

  • Perform welding and basic metal fabrication for machine repairs, modifications, fixtures, and maintenance work.
  • Fabricate brackets, guards, supports, and simple machine components when required.

Forklift Maintenance

  • Carry out routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs of forklifts.
  • Coordinate with external service providers for major repairs and annual servicing when necessary.

Preventive Maintenance Documentation

  • Prepare and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and maintenance records.
  • Complete maintenance reports, breakdown reports, and repair history documentation.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with company procedures and safety standards.

Spare Parts & Inventory Management

  • Monitor maintenance spare parts inventory.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and reorder critical spare parts when necessary.
  • Coordinate with the Purchasing Department for procurement of maintenance materials and spare parts.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and company safety procedures.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and implement 5S practices within the maintenance workshop.
  • Support ISO, quality, and safety audits where applicable.

Other Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide maintenance technicians when assigned.
  • Provide technical support to production departments.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Factory Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma, Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (experience in induction motor, electric motor, or machinery manufacturing is an advantage).
  • Strong knowledge of:

o Electrical troubleshooting (motors, control panels, sensors, contactors, inverters)

o Mechanical maintenance (gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, pumps, compressors)

o Pneumatic and hydraulic systems

  • Able to perform welding.
  • Experience in forklift maintenance and repair is preferred.
  • Able to read electrical wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.
  • Familiar with preventive maintenance planning and documentation.
  • Experience in spare parts inventory management and maintenance record keeping.
  • Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting is an added advantage.
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Able to communicate in Mandarin to liaise effectively with Mandarin-speaking stake holders, colleagues and suppliers.
  • Willing to work in Puncak Alam, Selangor.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
