Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Safety Coordinator to support the implementation and enforcement of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements across multiple construction and interior fit-out projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, WSH Officer, and project teams to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company safety policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) programmes at project sites in accordance with Singapore regulations.
- Conduct routine site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards.
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act, MOM regulations, Code of Practice, and company safety procedures.
- Prepare, review, and update Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Method Statements, and Permit-to-Work (PTW) documentation.
- Organise and conduct toolbox meetings, safety inductions, and safety briefings for employees and subcontractors.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, prepare investigation reports, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce site safety requirements.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Supervisors, subcontractors, consultants, and clients on safety-related matters.
- Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, statutory registers, and other WSH documentation.
- Support internal safety audits, external audits, and inspections conducted by regulatory authorities.
- Assist in emergency preparedness planning, drills, and implementation of emergency response procedures.
- Promote a proactive safety culture and continuously improve workplace safety performance.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Safety Manager.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Workplace Safety and Health, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Project Safety Coordinator, WSH Coordinator, or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Possess a valid Workplace Safety and Health Coordinator (WSHC) certificate recognised in Singapore.
- Strong knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Health Act, MOM regulations, and Singapore construction safety requirements.
- Experience preparing Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Method Statements, and Permit-to-Work (PTW) documentation.
- Experience in accident investigation, hazard identification, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in interior fit-out, façade, A&A, or building construction projects.
- Familiarity with bizSAFE, ISO 45001, and other safety management systems.
- First Aid, Fire Safety, or other relevant WSH certifications will be an advantage.
