Job Summary
Skud Technical is looking for a Senior TAB Engineer to lead Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB) works for HVAC air-side and hydronic water systems in accordance with project requirements and NEBB procedures.
This is a hands-on site-based role for an experienced TAB engineer who can lead site execution, troubleshoot system performance issues, verify test data, coordinate with consultants and contractors, and guide engineers and technicians during TAB works.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB) works for HVAC air-side systems
- Lead and perform hydronic water balancing for chilled water and related HVAC systems
- Carry out TAB works in accordance with project specifications, approved procedures, and NEBB requirements
- Review HVAC drawings, schematic diagrams, system layouts, AHUs, FCUs, FAUs, pumps, balancing valves, dampers, and related equipment before site testing
- Identify airflow, water flow, pressure, temperature, and system performance issues during testing
- Troubleshoot site issues and propose practical corrective actions during TAB execution
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, clients, and internal project teams during site works
- Supervise and guide TAB engineers and technicians during testing and balancing activities
- Verify site readings, test data, and balancing results before report preparation
- Support preparation, checking, and submission of TAB reports and technical documentation
- Ensure TAB instruments are used correctly and site records are properly maintained
- Follow project safety requirements and site procedures at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Malaysian citizen
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC Testing, Adjusting and Balancing
- Strong experience in air-side TAB works
- Good understanding of hydronic water balancing, chilled water systems, pumps, valves, pressure readings, and flow verification
- Able to read and understand HVAC drawings, schematic diagrams, and technical documents
- Familiarity with NEBB TAB procedures or similar testing and commissioning standards is an advantage
- Able to work independently on site with minimal supervision
- Able to lead junior engineers and technicians during site execution
- Confident communicating with consultants, contractors, clients, and site teams
- Willing to travel to project sites when required
Preferred Experience
- Experience using TAB instruments such as capture hood, digital manometer, thermal anemometer, tachometer, hydronic balancing meter, ultrasonic flow meter, or related testing instruments
- Experience in data centre, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, healthcare, commercial, or industrial HVAC projects
- Experience preparing or checking TAB reports
