Job Summary
Skud Technical is looking for a TAB Engineer to carry out Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB) works for HVAC air-side systems and support hydronic water balancing activities.
This is a site-based engineering role suitable for someone who is comfortable working on HVAC systems, taking accurate test readings, coordinating with project teams, and learning NEBB-aligned TAB practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB) works for HVAC air-side systems
- Support hydronic water balancing works for chilled water and related HVAC systems
- Take airflow, pressure, temperature, and basic water-side readings during site testing
- Check AHUs, FCUs, FAUs, exhaust fans, diffusers, grilles, dampers, pumps, valves, and related HVAC equipment
- Review HVAC drawings, schedules, and system layouts before site testing
- Record site data, test readings, and balancing results accurately
- Identify and report airflow, water flow, pressure, access, or system performance issues
- Coordinate with senior engineers, technicians, contractors, consultants, and internal project teams
- Assist with troubleshooting and adjustment works during TAB execution
- Support preparation of TAB reports and technical documentation
- Ensure TAB instruments are used correctly and site records are properly maintained
- Follow project safety requirements and site procedures at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Malaysian citizen
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent
- 1–3 years of experience in HVAC, testing and commissioning, TAB, M&E, or building services
- Good understanding of HVAC air-side systems
- Basic understanding of chilled water systems, pumps, valves, pressure readings, and water flow is an advantage
- Able to read and understand HVAC drawings, schedules, and technical documents
- Comfortable working on construction sites, commercial buildings, factories, hospitals, data centres, or industrial facilities
- Able to record readings and measurements accurately
- Willing to learn NEBB-aligned TAB procedures, hydronic balancing, and testing instruments
- Able to work with engineers, technicians, contractors, and site teams
- Willing to travel to project sites when required
Preferred Experience
- Experience using TAB instruments such as capture hood, digital manometer, thermal anemometer, tachometer, hydronic balancing meter, ultrasonic flow meter, or related testing tools
- Experience in data centre, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, healthcare, commercial, or industrial HVAC projects
- Experience preparing site reports, testing records, or commissioning documentation
