Job Title: Data Engineer (Parental Cover)

Contract Duration: 8 months


Are you passionate about building scalable data solutions and driving data-driven insights? We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our team on a parental cover contract basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects supporting analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.


Responsibilities:


  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows to support diverse business needs.
  • Build and optimize large-scale data models, schemas, and data warehouse architectures for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to understand data requirements and deliver innovative data solutions.
  • Implement comprehensive data quality frameworks, including monitoring, validation, alerting, and anomaly detection to ensure data integrity.
  • Evaluate and adopt best practices for data governance, privacy compliance, and data lifecycle management.
  • Leverage AI tools and cloud-based AI services to enhance data processing and analytics capabilities.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform development, or related technical roles.
  • Expertise in SQL and experience working with large-scale data warehouses such as Hive, Spark, or Presto.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or Java for building data pipelines and automation.
  • Proven experience designing and operating production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines with workflow orchestration tools.
  • Deep understanding of data modeling concepts, including dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and data vault methodologies.
  • Experience with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark, MapReduce) for large-scale data processing.
  • Knowledge of data quality practices, data governance, and privacy compliance requirements.
  • Ability to independently manage complex projects from inception to delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred Skills:


  • Experience integrating AI and machine learning workflows within cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their AI and data services.
