Job Requirements

  • A recognized Degree in the Environmental Science field/Civil Engineering/its equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years related working experience in the Environmental field within the Construction Industry.
  • Must register with CePSWaM
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, permits, and compliance procedures.
  • Self-motivated, initiative, independent with good interpersonal skills.
  • Preferably a trained internal auditor. Well-versed in ISO 14001 standards and experienced in Environmental System Audits. Knowledgeable in legal and other requirements related to the environment.
  • Site based in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah.

Job Descriptions

  • Implement all policies, activities, procedures, and instructions as relevant and required by the QESH Management System.
  • Provide and demonstrate leadership and commitment to the overall implementation of the QESH Management System in the department.
  • Take accountability for the effectiveness of the QESH Management System in the department.
  • Take responsibility and accountability for the prevention of work-related injury and ill health in own specific area of work/responsibilities.
  • Ensure that the QESH Management System conforms to the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards in the department.
  • Promote the use of process approach, risk-based thinking, and life cycle perspective in the organization.
  • Promote customer focus and improvement in the department.
  • Comply with clients and applicable legal and other requirements.
  • Determine risks and opportunities plan actions, and ensure they are implemented.
  • Report on the performance of the QESH Management System including QESH performance in the department to the Top Management.
  • Prepare, review, update, and control the distribution of the Environmental Management Compliance Plan for the project site and as per client’s requirements.
  • Brief and educate the project team and the subcontractors on the Environmental Management Compliance Plan and other client’s requirements whichever is applicable.
  • Set out various environmental protection/conservation measures to comply with the environmental conditions as stipulated by the Department of Environment (DOE) and other relevant authorities in the EIA approval conditions.
  • Ensure the environmental issues e.g. water, air, odor qualities, and noise level parameters are within permitted limits.
  • Liaise with authorities for the application of Environmental pollution, recommend corrective measures and prepare Environmental Monitoring and Audit Reports (EMAR) on a monthly basis.
  • Participate in the weekly toolbox, and monthly environmental meeting at the project site as per contract.
  • Attend to audit findings on environmental issues within the stipulated time.
  • Handle complaints from the public and local authorities on environmental issues.
  • Record and document all Best Management Practices (BMPs) at the site.
  • Undertake any and all other duties and responsibilities as so instructed by the Superior.

Pay: RM3,800.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
