Role Purpose :

The Senior Technical Officer is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and continual improvement of technical systems and facilities to support business operations. By providing expert technical support, leading preventive maintenance, and resolving issues efficiently, this role contributes to service excellence and operational safety. Through technical expertise, collaboration, and a proactive approach, the position plays a vital role in putting a smile on customers’ faces by ensuring a safe, comfortable, and seamless customer experience.

A typical day in this Role: 

• Lead and supervise a team of mechanics to carry out daily maintenance activities and emergency job orders for building services, cold storage facilities, and electronic systems, ensuring operational reliability that supports a seamless O+O (Offline + Online) business model and a positive customer experience.

• Conduct regular inspections using a scientific and data-driven approach to identify faults, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold safety and service standards.

• Provide hands-on technical support and professional guidance to team members, reinforcing work quality, service excellence, and a customer-focused mindset across all maintenance activities.

• Coordinate closely with external vendors and contractors to deliver timely and cost-effective maintenance services, embracing collaboration as our way of working to achieve shared operational goals.

• Assist in managing the annual maintenance budget, analyze cost drivers, and recommend data-backed strategies for cost optimization and long-term asset sustainability.

• Prepare regular operational and performance reports, analyze maintenance data for continuous improvement, and manage ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Success will depend on:  

• Tertiary education or above in Building Services or Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.

• 3 – 4 years’ experience as supervisory level in building services or maintenance fields, with cold storage or automation knowledge is an advantage.

• Solid understanding of building systems, maintenance rules, and safety regulations.

• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
