Job Summary:

As a Chemical Process Engineering Intern at the Aerospace Malaysia Innovation Centre (AMIC), your

role is to conduct techno-economic analyses to evaluate the viability, sustainability, and market

potential of innovative aviation technologies, focusing on chemical processes related to sustainable

aviation fuel (SAF) production. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to drive our mission

towards a more sustainable aviation industry.

In this internship, the student is expected to calculate and validate the various parameters in a

techno-economic assessment (TEA) using Microsoft Excel and collaborate with life-cycle

assessment experts to evaluate the economic and environmental viability of a chemical process

plant. The student will gain an understanding of TEA for SAF production technologies by integrating

process design, performance, capital and operating costs, and financial metrics to determine the

commercial potential of a chemical process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in techno-economic assessments (TEA) of sustainable aviation technologies,

including feedstock procurement, processing, and conversion technologies.

• Develop and apply analytical models to evaluate the economic performance and

environmental impact of new technologies and processes.

• Identify and analyze the value chain for SAF and other sustainable aviation initiatives, from

raw material sourcing to end-use.

• Work closely with the R&D team to integrate technical findings and economic analysis into

the development and optimization of sustainable aviation solutions.

• Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations

to both technical and non-technical audiences
