About The Role
We are looking for an AI Infrastructure Engineer to join our Database Autonomy Service (DAS) team, where you will design and deliver AI-driven operations capabilities that make database services self-recoverable, performant, and secure at scale. You will work at the intersection of distributed databases, large-scale operations tooling, and applied AI — shaping the next generation of autonomous database management.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and ship features for the Database Autonomy Service (DAS), spanning anomaly detection, root cause diagnosis, performance tuning, and security hardening across PolarDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, and other supported engines.
- Drive the AI-native transformation of DAS by exploring AI Agent technologies and building autonomous operations agents that augment — and progressively automate — day-to-day database operations.
- Own the full lifecycle of the features you build, including on-call rotation, escalated ticket resolution, bug triage, incident diagnosis, customer experience improvements, and performance/cost optimization.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or a closely related discipline.
- 2+ years of backend engineering experience, working on databases, AI applications, agentic systems, operations platforms, or comparable infrastructure products.
- Proven ability to lead the design and implementation of core modules or system-level architectures, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality, robust software.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with demonstrated success partnering with upstream and downstream teams to define roadmaps and deliver on shared goals.
Preferred Qualifications
- In-depth, hands-on experience with mainstream database systems and their operational ecosystems (monitoring, diagnostics, HA, backup/restore, etc.).
- Prior exposure to AIOps, LLM-powered agents, or autonomous systems in a production environment.
- Open-source contributions or publications in the database / AI / system domains.
