Responsibilities

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Speech & Language Therapist to join our team. This role is focused on supporting children with communication needs, working hand-in-hand with families, and creating a nurturing environment that empowers each child to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Child Assessment & Therapy

  • Welcome and assess new children to understand their strengths and developmental needs.
  • Observe and evaluate to identify the nature and extent of speech or communication challenges.
  • Deliver engaging and effective therapy sessions, using a blend of trusted methods and innovative approaches.
  • Plan and implement intervention programs for speech disorders, delays, and selective mutism, including through the Early Intervention Program (EIP).
  • Support children through academic, play-based, and school interventions, providing meaningful activities for both the classroom and at home.

Family & Community Collaboration

  • Work closely with parents and families, building strong partnerships to ensure effective treatment plans.
  • Provide guidance, homework, and practical strategies to parents to help extend therapy beyond the centre.
  • Conduct workshops and mentoring sessions to empower families and raise awareness about speech and language development.
  • Organize and conduct home-based therapy sessions when required.

Professional Growth & Teamwork

  • Keep accurate, detailed notes on each child’s history and progress.
  • Monitor and evaluate children’s development, making adjustments to therapy plans as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in speech and language therapy through conferences, training, research, and networking.
  • Support and collaborate with colleagues, contributing to a positive and professional team culture.
  • Undertake any other duties assigned by the Head of Department to support the overall mission of the centre.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma/Degree in Speech & Language Therapy (or equivalent).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect warmly with children and families.
  • A passion for child development and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Experience in early intervention, speech therapy programs, or working with children with special needs will be an advantage.
  • We warmly welcome interns and individuals with no experience, as long as you bring a genuine eagerness to learn and grow.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Contract, Temporary, Internship

Pay: RM2,300.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
