Overview

We are looking for a Japanese-speaking Interpreter in Penang, Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Japanese ⇔ English interpretation between Japanese patients and doctors/medical staff during medical consultations.
• Assist with medical insurance and travel insurance claim procedures.
• Translate medical-related documents (Japanese ⇔ English).
• Perform data entry and general administrative duties.
• Provide interpretation support during police reporting procedures and hospital visits for Japanese customers involved in traffic accidents, when required.
• Carry out other customer support and administrative tasks as assigned.

Working Hours

• 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

• JLPT N2–N1 or native-level proficiency in Japanese.
• Conversational to business-level English communication skills.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Enjoy interacting with and supporting people.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in medical interpretation, interpretation, translation, customer service, or customer support.
• No prior medical interpretation experience is required. Training will be provided.
