The Sales Manager for Construction Project is responsible for identifying, developing, and winning capital construction project opportunities in the upstream oil and gas sector, with a strong focus on floating production assets such as FPSOs and FSUs. This role drives early engagement with owners, operators, EPCs, shipyards, and package contractors to position the company for project specification, commercial success, and long-term growth. The individual will lead project pursuit strategy, manage a team of sales associates, build a strong sales pipeline, and engage confidently with stakeholders from engineering and commercial teams to C-suite executives.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new capital project opportunities in the upstream oil and gas market, especially floating production projects such as FPSOs, FSOs and FSUs.
- Build strong relationships with owners, operators, EPCs, shipyards, OEMs, package vendors, and other project influencers.
- Engage customers early in the project lifecycle (pre-FEED, FEED, specification, and tender stages) to improve positioning and win rates.
- Promote the company’s products, solutions, and services to support project specifications and commercial success.
- Lead and manage the project sales pipeline, ensuring high-quality opportunity development, regular follow-up, and accurate forecasting.
- Support strategic account planning and long-term business development initiatives to expand market presence in the offshore upstream segment.
- People management including recruitment, orientation, retention, well-being, and disciplinary action.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in project sales within the upstream oil and gas industry, particularly in capital projects.
- Strong industry network with floating production players (FPSO, FSU), oil and gas owners, operators, EPCs, shipyards, and key project stakeholders across Singapore and the APAC region.
- Commercially driven with strong sales instincts; resilient, persistent, and results-oriented.
- Proactive “hunter” mindset with the drive to pursue and convert opportunities.
- Background in instrumentation products and services is strongly preferred.
- Good understanding of the oil and gas project lifecycle—from front-end engineering and design through to procurement, construction, and commissioning.
