We're Hiring: Network Technician | Penang, Malaysia | 12-Month Contract (Extendable)

Location: Penang, Malaysia

Employment Type: 12-Month Contract (Extendable)

Experience Required: 2–6 Years

Key Responsibilities

• Install, test, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cabling, including patching, labeling, and cable certification.
• Perform rack & stack activities, including switch installation and structured cable management.
• Assist with VLAN configuration and basic network setup under the guidance of senior network engineers.
• Execute basic switch configurations, including port setup, access/trunk configuration, and standard network provisioning.
• Conduct routine network health checks and escalate issues when necessary.
• Provide support for LAN, Wi-Fi, and connectivity incidents, including patching and physical network troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate network documentation, including cabling layouts, port assignments, and patch panel records.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for structured cabling and infrastructure activities.
• Support Moves, Adds, Changes (MAC), network cutovers, and other site infrastructure projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in network infrastructure or network technician roles.
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling (Copper & Fiber).
• Experience with rack & stack, switch installation, and cable management.
• Basic understanding of Ethernet networking, VLANs, and switch configuration.
• Familiarity with LAN, Wi-Fi, and physical network troubleshooting.
• Experience maintaining network documentation and supporting infrastructure projects.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing or enterprise environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
