BMS Engineer (Data Centre Projects) Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya

About the Role

We are representing an engineering consultancy currently expanding its Building Management Systems (BMS) team to support upcoming Data Centre (mission-critical) projects.

This role offers strong exposure to full-cycle BMS engineering, including design, coordination, site execution, and commissioning activities.

You will report to the BMS Manager and be part of a growing technical team supporting complex MEP systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop BMS layouts, schematics, control philosophy, and technical documentation
• Coordinate BMS integration with MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing)
• Prepare tender drawings, construction drawings, specifications, and technical submissions
• Review I/O points, Sequence of Operation (SOO), and system architecture
• Attend client meetings, technical discussions, and coordination meetings
• Conduct site supervision and inspections to ensure compliance with standards and specifications
• Support Testing & Commissioning (T&C), FAT/SAT, and Cx1–Cx5 commissioning activities
• Troubleshoot, optimise systems, and support project delivery
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams
• Provide guidance to junior engineers (where applicable)

Requirements

Education

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronic Engineering or related field

Experience

• Junior: 2–3 years BMS experience
• Senior: 5+ years BMS experience
• Strong experience in Data Centre / mission-critical projects is required

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD / Revit
• BACnet, Modbus, and BMS network architecture
• Sequence of Operation (SOO) development
• Experience in FAT, SAT, and commissioning (Cx1–Cx5)

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Leadership capability for senior-level candidates
