Department: Food & Beverage (Kitchen)
Job Purpose
To assist the Head Chef and Deputy Chef in the daily kitchen operations while supporting restaurant service when required. The Demi Chef is primarily responsible for food preparation, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring smooth coordination between the kitchen and service team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food in accordance with the hotel's recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served in a timely manner.
- Assist the Head Chef and Deputy Chef in daily kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards in the kitchen at all times.
- Monitor food stock levels and inform the Chef of items requiring replenishment.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food ingredients.
- Minimize food wastage and maintain cost control.
- Assist in receiving and checking kitchen supplies.
- Support breakfast, lunch, dinner, buffet, banquet, and special event preparations.
- Coordinate effectively with the restaurant service team to ensure smooth food service.
- Assist with floor operations when required, including serving guests, attending to customer requests, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Support the restaurant team during busy periods to ensure efficient service.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Head Chef or Management.
Requirements
- Certificate/Diploma in Culinary Arts is an advantage.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen.
- Good knowledge of food preparation and hygiene standards.
- Positive attitude, teamwork, and willingness to support both kitchen and restaurant operations.
- Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
