Job Summary
Spectrum International University College (SIUC) is seeking a qualified and dedicated Lecturer in Electrical & Electronics Technology to support the Bachelor of Electrical & Electronics Technology (BEET) (Hons) programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses, preparing teaching and learning materials, supervising students, participating in academic quality assurance activities, and contributing to curriculum development in accordance with institutional and MQA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, laboratory and practical sessions.
- Prepare teaching, learning and assessment materials.
- Conduct face-to-face and Open & Distance Learning (ODL) classes.
- Assess student performance through coursework, practicals and examinations.
- Provide academic advising and consultation to students.
Academic Administration
- Prepare Subject Information Matrix (SIM), course files and teaching portfolios.
- Participate in curriculum review and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI).
- Prepare examination papers, marking schemes and moderation documents.
- Support MQA, MBOT and internal academic quality assurance activities.
Student Supervision
- Supervise Final Year Projects (FYP), Integrated Design Projects and industrial training students.
- Mentor students in academic and professional development.
Research and Professional Development
- Conduct research and scholarly activities.
- Publish in journals and conference proceedings.
- Participate in consultancy, innovation and community engagement activities.
- Attend training and professional development programmes.
Subjects Able to Teach
- Applicants should be able to teach most of the following areas:
- Fundamental Electrical Circuits

- Power Electronics
- Control and Automation
- Instrumentation and Measurement
- Embedded Systems / Microcontrollers
- Engineering Mathematics
- Final Year Project / Integrated Design Project
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- A Master's Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering,Power Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a related field.
Experience
Applicants should have:
- Minimum one (1) year of teaching experience in higher education or
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant industrial experience in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Experience in Open & Distance Learning (ODL) teaching will be an added advantage.
Knowledge and Skills
Candidates should have knowledge of:
- Outcome-Based Education (OBE)
- Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) requirements
- Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Laboratory and practical teaching
- Engineering software such as MATLAB, Proteus, Multisim, AutoCAD Electrical or PLC programming software.
Preferred Professional Registration
The following will be an added advantage:
- Registered Graduate Technologist (gt) with MBOT.
