About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Audit Assistant to join our External Audit team at STELLAR CORPORATE ADVISORY . This is a full-time position based in Johor Bahru, Johor. As an Audit Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our audit engagements, working alongside experienced auditors to ensure the highest standards of financial examination and reporting. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your audit skills and gain valuable practical experience in external audit within a professional and supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing external audit procedures for various clients across different industries
• Perform detailed testing of financial records, transactions, and supporting documentation to verify accuracy and compliance
• Prepare and organise audit working papers and maintain comprehensive audit trails
• Conduct substantive audit procedures and gather sufficient appropriate audit evidence
• Support the audit team in the review and analysis of client financial statements and accounting records
• Perform bank reconciliations, inventory observations, and other audit verification procedures
• Assist in the preparation of audit reports and client communications
• Liaise with client personnel to obtain necessary information and documentation during audit fieldwork
• Identify and document any audit findings or discrepancies for discussion with senior audit staff
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit processes and procedures

What we're looking for

• A recognized accounting qualification or currently pursuing a professional accounting designation (such as ACA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and audit procedures
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills with the ability to work through complex financial information
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and audit software packages; familiarity with accounting systems is advantageous
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• A proactive and inquisitive approach to learning with a commitment to professional development
• Reliability, integrity, and a professional attitude towards client confidentiality
• Previous audit or accounting experience, whether through internships, graduate schemes, or previous employment, is highly desirable

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
