Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior System Analyst with strong expertise in card issuing systems and mainframe technologies to support the analysis, enhancement, and delivery of card-related business solutions. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and vendors to analyze requirements, conduct impact assessments, design solutions, and support end-to-end project delivery.

This role requires hands-on experience in card issuing platforms, e-commerce, and acquiring business processes within a mainframe environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements for card issuing and acquiring initiatives.
• Perform impact assessments and feasibility studies for system enhancements, regulatory changes, and business requests.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications, solution designs, and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with business users, project managers, developers, and vendors to deliver card system enhancements.
• Analyze existing applications and recommend scalable and efficient solutions.
• Define and support test strategies, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria based on business requirements.
• Participate in System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and production implementation activities.
• Support incident investigation, root cause analysis, and production issue resolution.
• Ensure adherence to SDLC processes, governance standards, and project delivery methodologies.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project, functional, and system documentation.
• Provide subject matter expertise on card issuing, e-commerce, and acquiring business processes.

Required Skills

• 6–9 years of experience as a System Analyst in banking, payments, or cards-related environments.
• Strong experience with card issuing platforms (e.g., Cardlink or similar card management systems).
• Solid understanding of:
• Card issuing
• Card lifecycle management
• Authorization, settlement, and transaction processing
• Hands-on experience with Mainframe z/OS environments.
• Strong technical expertise in:
• COBOL
• CICS
• JCL
• Experience working with databases, VSAM files, and sequential datasets.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce and acquiring business processes.
• Proven experience in requirements gathering, impact analysis, solution design, and functional documentation.
• Knowledge of system integration and transaction processing within card payment ecosystems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience supporting mainframe-based card applications as a System Analyst.
• Knowledge of Easytrieve.
• Familiarity with SDLC methodologies (Agile and Waterfall).
• Experience in effort estimation, project planning, and dependency analysis.
• Exposure to defining test strategies, scenarios, and QA processes.
• Knowledge of payment networks, card schemes, and acquiring integrations.
• Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in the cards and payments domain.
• Experience in large-scale banking transformation or card modernization initiatives.
• Knowledge of performance optimization and production support in mission-critical mainframe environments.
