Role Description

The Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Sunway Geo but with weekly travelling required to Puncak Alam. The role involves managing day-to-day accounting operations, including processing invoices, maintaining general ledgers, preparing journal entries, and ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.


  1. Oversee the month-end closing process, including posting of month-end journals, preparation of inter-company cross charges, and ensuring accurate, transparent, and timely reporting of monthly, quarterly, and yearly results.
  2. Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled in accordance with timelines.
  3. Control the period-end close for entities, ensuring compliance with the agreed closing checklist.
  4. Prepare and present financial statements, management reports, cash flow statement and variance analyses, for entities and consolidation.
  5. Preparing tax computation, withholding tax computation and ensuring its paid on a timely basis.
  6. Lead the annual budgeting process, including the preparation of detailed financial plans, forecasts, and projections.
  7. Monitor and analyse budget performance, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.
  8. Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  9. Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of finance and accounting processes.
  10. Liaise with external parties, including the company secretary, auditors, tax consultants, bankers, and other statutory bodies/authorities to ensure compliance with all audit, tax and statutory obligations.
  11. Assist the Manager on all reporting issues.
  12. Manage other job assigned by Superior from time to time.


Qualifications

  • Strong skills in financial accounting, general ledger management, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations, compliance requirements, and audit processes in Malaysia.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work well in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of financial information.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
  • Must posses professional membership/certifications (e.g., MIA, ACCA, CPA)
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or export-oriented businesses is beneficial.
  • Commitment to ethical practices, continuous learning, and adherence to company policies and standards.
