The Role

  • Independent contributor for design related scopes in a retail business

  • Drafting and designing of layouts for new stores and refurbished stores that balance practicality, business needs and aesthetics.

  • Drafting and designing of clear and accurate detailed design development drawings for tender issuance, distribution to contractors and other stakeholders.

  • Design fixtures/equipment for ad hoc projects/rollouts the business requires.

  • Conceptualization and development of interior design concepts that align with the business’ vision, objectives and project goals.

  • Develop mood boards, sketches, design proposals and 3D modelling/rendering to convey ideas effectively.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively to bring designs/concepts/projects to completion through detailed design development and space planning.

  • Attend site meetings and communicate with contractors/other stakeholders as and when necessary to ensure design is executed as intended and supports the completion of the project on schedule.

  • Source and select appropriate materials, finishes, and furnishings that align with the design concept and budget.

  • Maintain knowledge of the latest industry trends, products, and sustainable design practices.

About You:

  • Diploma, Certificate, or Bachelor degree in Interior Design / Architecture

  • 2-3 years of experience in designing commercial/ retail projects

  • A portfolio of previous project experience

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketchup, Render software (Vray, Lumion, 3D Max) Microsoft Office

  • Bonus considerations: Ability to use Illustrator or Indesign
