Job Summary
Rig, hoist, and secure steel girders, columns, and beams to build building frameworks, using cranes and surveying tools to ensure precise alignment and safety compliance.
Responsibilities
- Rig, hoist, and secure steel girders, columns, and beams to construct building skeletons accurately
- Use cranes and surveying instruments to align steelwork precisely before bolting, welding, or riveting
- Erect safety netting and install edge rails to maintain a safe work environment
- Follow fall-protection and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines strictly to ensure safety
- Interpret technical drawings and structural plans to position components accurately
- Adapt to work schedules including night shifts, Sundays, public holidays, and odd hours based on customer requirements
- Participate in practical tests if requested by management to demonstrate job competency
- Complete a probation period of three months, after which permanent employment may be offered based on evaluation
Required competencies and certifications
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in steel erection and rigging
- Willingness to work after regular hours, including nights, Sundays, public holidays, and odd timings as required
