Responsibilities

Job Summary

Prepare and manage comprehensive accounting functions, financial analyses, and compliance activities to support accurate reporting, risk mitigation, and strategic business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post accounting entries including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger journals, accruals, prepayments, and bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Maintain accounting records ensuring all financial transactions comply with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Execute month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing schedules and supporting documents to ensure timely financial reporting.
  • Review budgets, forecasts, cost estimates, and financial analyses from project teams for key projects and tender submissions; conduct variance analysis and report significant deviations, risks, and financial impacts to management.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and support tax filings such as GST for input and output tax.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit processes by preparing audit schedules, supporting documentation, and resolving audit queries within stipulated timelines.
  • Implement and enhance accounting processes, systems, and internal controls to improve operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial planning and enable informed business decisions.
  • Conduct detailed financial analyses to inform pricing strategies, contract structuring, and risk assessment.
  • Develop and manage contract management processes to mitigate risks and optimize financial performance.
  • Liaise with legal counsel on contractual and compliance matters to ensure alignment with regulations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in financial reporting and compliance.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CA, or CPA are advantageous.
  • 5 to 8 years of full-set accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero) and spreadsheet tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), GST regulations, and corporate compliance requirements.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial matters.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
