Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Product Design Department

Reporting to: Product Design Section Leader

Functional Relationships with:

All departments in Murata Electronics Singapore (Pte.) Ltd., Tuas site.

Design department in Tohoku Murata Manufacturing, Japan.


POSITION PROFILE

Based in: Singapore

Job Site: Tuas

The successful candidate will support design engineer to carry out activities such as sample making and shipment, cell analysis and evaluations, etc.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the engineer to plan & formulate action plans.
  • Assist the engineer in drafting design drawings or technical standards.
  • Assist to perform cell analysis & evaluation. Analyse engineering tests results.
  • Carry out sample making, line trials or test runs. Handle sample shipment.
  • Perform tasks or projects assigned by superior (including secondary appointment).
  • To be aware of workplace safety & health (WSH) policy. Follow all WSH safety procedures, rules, and regulations. To identify & eliminate or reduce hazard at workplace.
  • To be aware of environmental policy, objective, target & corporate’s requirement.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) of battery cells for Power Tools (PT), Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE), Battery Backup Unit (BBU).
  • Line Expansion of Existing power cell models.
  • 4M change of key battery cell materials for the purpose of Value-Add Cost Down (VACD) or Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
  • Design Review & Standardization for quality improvement including yield & productivity.
  • Collaborate and support QA or Sales for customer requests.
  • Support quality trouble investigations including cell performance risks assessment.

ABILITY / COMPETENCY REQUIRED

  • Diploma in Mechanical / Material / Chemical Engineering.
  • 2 years of experience in manufacturing sector is preferred. Fresh graduates are welcome.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, project management skills, troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to work well as a team player while being independent and pro-active.
  • Positive attitude in challenging work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office. Familiar with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, JMP, SPC, DOE, Statistics, are added advantages.
  • Able to work in clean room & dry room (0% humidity).
