Job Summary

The Front Office Assistant is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service by ensuring the efficient operation of the Front Office. This role serves as the first point of contact for guests, providing a warm welcome, managing check in and check out procedures, handling reservations and guest enquiries and ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and memorable stay. The ideal candidate is service oriented, professional and committed to maintaining the highest standards of hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and register guests in a courteous, professional and efficient manner.
  • Perform check in and check out procedures accurately while ensuring compliance with hotel policies and standards.
  • Handle room reservations, amendments, cancellations and guest enquiries through various communication channels.
  • Process payments, maintain accurate guest accounts and ensure billing is completed correctly.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, feedback and complaints, taking appropriate action to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of hotel facilities, room types, promotions, and services to provide accurate information and recommendations to guests.
  • Coordinate closely with Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Sales and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent guest experiences.
  • Ensure the reception area is well organised, presentable and reflects the hotel's professional image at all times.
  • Handle cash, credit card and other payment transactions in accordance with hotel financial procedures.
  • Safeguard guest privacy by maintaining the confidentiality of guest information.
  • Comply with all hotel policies, standard operating procedures and health and safety regulations.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Front Office Manager or Management.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Tourism or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 1 or 2 years of experience in a Front Office or guest service role within the hospitality industry.
  • Fresh graduates with a positive attitude and strong customer service skills are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in Mandarin will be an added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, and problem solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Customer focused with a professional appearance and a positive attitude.
  • Able to work on rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Demonstrates integrity, reliability and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM1,800.00 per month
