About EMA Marine

EMA Marine is a Hamburg-based manning agency specialising in the recruitment and management of seafarers for international shipowners and ship managers. The group includes the Ethiopian Maritime Training Institute (EMTI), the only academy in Ethiopia dedicated to training marine engineers, developing qualified Marine Engineers (OICEW) and Electro-Technical Officers (ETOs) for global shipping.


Backed by a registered talent pool of over 2,300 seafarers, from cadets through to chief engineers and senior ETOs, EMA Marine offers owners a reliable, long-term crewing solution built on its own training pipeline rather than the open market. We already work with clients operating in the region, and we are now investing in a dedicated Singapore presence to grow those relationships and open new ones.


The Role

As Key Account Manager for Singapore, you will be EMA Marine's face in one of the world's leading maritime hubs. You will step into existing client relationships and grow them, while opening new doors with shipowners and managers across the region.


Based in Singapore in a hybrid setup, you will:


  • Manage and grow our existing accounts in the region, deepening relationships and expanding the scope of what we deliver.
  • Develop new business with shipowners and ship managers across Singapore and the wider Asia region.
  • Act as the main point of contact for key accounts, owning the relationship end to end.
  • Coordinate crew placements and rotations, working closely with our crewing and training teams to match seafarer profiles to client needs.
  • Monitor contract performance, resolve operational issues, and keep clients confident in our delivery.
  • Prepare proposals and reports, support pricing and negotiation, and identify opportunities to grow each account.
  • Represent EMA Marine at industry events and within the regional maritime community.


What we're looking for


  • Proven key account management and business development experience in a B2B environment, ideally with a track record of both growing existing accounts and winning new ones.
  • An existing network within the shipowner, ship management, or crewing community in Singapore or Asia is a strong advantage.
  • Solid commercial, negotiation, and contract-management skills, including proposal development and pricing discussions.
  • Knowledge of the maritime, shipping, or crewing sector, or the ability to get up to speed on it fast.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, international stakeholders, and internal teams across time zones.
  • Organised and analytical, comfortable managing multiple accounts, tracking performance, and reporting clearly.
  • Proficient in MS Office and comfortable with CRM tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • The right to work in Singapore, and willingness to travel regionally as we expand.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages an advantage.
