The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is seeking a Finance Business Partner in Malaysia. This role will assist the Director of Finance in partnering with business leaders within the organization to improve strategic decision-making by defining and developing performance management tools, identifying and crafting solutions around potential business issues, and providing financial insights on initiatives impacting both revenue and profitability.

Apart from partnering and analysis, the individual would also manage the organization's cash flow – ensuring that overall liquidity is positioned in support of CBTL’s growth objectives by collaborating with the Global Treasury function and the JWS Cash & Banking team. The individual would also oversee the costing function of the market, ensuring that product costs are appropriately charged, and any changes are appropriately anticipated and managed.

The Finance Business Partner position will sit in the Malaysia office, reporting directly to the Director of Finance.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Act as the finance business partner for heads of department within the Malaysia market.
• Partner with the marketing and operations teams to define financial goals prior to launching key initiatives, ensuring that all have clearly defined objectives that align with the market’s strategies.
• Design and develop tools to monitor performance against predefined goals, ensuring that each is tailored to the type of initiative being measured (e.g., limited-time offer, new product launch, price adjustment, fenced/broad offers).
• Analyze business drivers impacting organizational performance through interpretation of financial results and macro-economic trends impacting the market landscape to drive action and challenge/support decisions.
• Perform one-time or recurring financial evaluations impacting global operations and financials to support short- and long-term planning and decision-making.
• Manage overall liquidity for the market through effective cash flow monitoring coupled with proactive partnership with the Global Treasury function and the JWS Cash & Banking team.
• Oversee the costing function of the market, with a particular focus on anticipating potential changes and highlighting pricing or menu rationalization opportunities as needed.
• Display a strong, consistent, and vocal Finance point of view, remaining neutral and objective on business issues; maintain ability to influence client/partner thinking at all levels.
• Demonstrate learning and people agility, as well as comfort in dealing with ambiguity.
• Lead special projects as designed and defined by the Director of Finance.

Your Ingredients

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Statistics preferred
• 7+ years of financial planning and financial reporting experience in a multi-national company
• Food service and/or retail industry knowledge and experience a plus
• Strong financial modelling experience required
• Hands-on experience with process improvement methodologies, project management, and change management strongly preferred
• Self-motivated and experienced in transition situations where there is rapid change
• Strong ability to think strategically, creatively, and act tactically when required
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, influencing and team building skills required
• Strong negotiation, communication and analytical skills required
• Proficient with Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Microsoft Dynamics preferred
• English proficiency required
