Role Description The Cloud FinOps Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing cloud usage and costs across multiple platforms, with a focus on driving financial efficiency and transparency. Day-to-day activities include reviewing cloud consumption reports, identifying cost anomalies, preparing dashboards, and recommending optimization strategies such as rightsizing, reservation planning, and usage policies. The role also involves collaborating with engineering, finance, and operations teams to align cloud spending with budgets, forecasting future costs, and supporting governance frameworks and tagging standards. This is a contract, on-site role based in Kuala Lumpur, requiring close coordination with local and global stakeholders.


Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret cost data, identify trends, and support cloud cost optimization decisions.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting cloud cost anomalies and performance issues, with the ability to investigate root causes collaboratively.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) and familiarity with cloud cost management or FinOps tools.
  • Working knowledge of databases and data querying for building reports, dashboards, and cost analytics.
  • Understanding of software development practices and collaboration with engineering teams to integrate cost awareness into design and deployment.
  • Relevant experience in FinOps, cloud operations, or IT finance, preferably in a technology or enterprise environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
