Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Finance and local requirements, has responsibility for administration of Hotel’s Finance Policies.
Produces all invoices and statements for the Accounting Department. Responsible for the timely and accurate monthly payment.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 1 year experience in Accounting or Business Administration or related field
- High school graduate and above
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
- Finalizes food cover report and photocopies various documentation for food and beverage control and the Finance Department
- Controls all food and beverage sales by:
- Correct recording of guest checks on a timely basis
- Performs spot checks on outlet checks used
- Having all voided checks, corrections and unsettled checks approved by the Restaurant Supervisor or Manager
- Monitors the buffet controls, especially over cash settled checks to prevent reuse ensuring all revenue is recorded
- Ensure banquet controls are being adhered to
- Reconciles total outlet sales to total charges
- Reconciles revenues on a daily basisReviews city ledger daily for correct postings of charges and take corrective action where necessary
- Prevent high balances turning into bad debts
- Monitor and pursue collection of overdue accounts
- To assist in credit card/platform reconciliation
- Respond to and resolve account queries in conjunction with accounts receivable
- Assists in control and collection of outstanding guest and city ledger accounts
- Ensures all rebates and miscellaneous charges are supported by documentation detailing the charges. All rebate credits must be in accordance with Finance Policy. The rebate credits, miscellaneous charges and paid outs must be summarized and sent to the Finance Manager and General Manager for review daily
