Role Description The Assistant Production Manager (Metal) is a full-time, on-site role based in Kapar, responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of metal production activities in the manufacturing facility. This role oversees daily shop-floor operations, including scheduling, workflow monitoring, and resource allocation to meet quality, safety, and delivery targets. The Assistant Production Manager (Metal) works closely with production teams, engineers, and quality control to resolve technical issues, optimize processes, and ensure adherence to specifications and standards. The position also involves tracking production KPIs, preparing reports, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting training and development of production staff. Collaboration with procurement and logistics teams to manage materials, minimize downtime, and meet project timelines is a key part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing operations, including familiarity with metalworking processes, machinery, and production workflows.
• Skills in production planning, scheduling, and resource management, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of quality control practices, safety standards, and compliance requirements in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to identify issues, implement corrective actions, and drive process improvements.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams, supervising staff, and reporting to management.
• Basic proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., MS Office, ERP or production management systems) for documentation and reporting.
• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to work on-site in a fast-paced production environment, with a commitment to teamwork, reliability, and continuous learning.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
