Job Overview

The Test Manager is responsible for leading and managing all test engineering activities to ensure product quality, test coverage, equipment reliability, and manufacturing efficiency. This role oversees test development, test process optimization, yield improvement, failure analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting production and customer requirements.

Job Description

1.1 Test Engineering Management

• Lead and manage the Test Engineering team to support production and new product introduction (NPI).
• Develop departmental goals, KPIs, and improvement plans.
• Allocate resources effectively to support business objectives and customer demands.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members to enhance technical and leadership capabilities.

1.2 Production Test Support

• Ensure test systems achieve high uptime and support production output requirements.
• Drive rapid resolution of test-related issues impacting manufacturing.
• Monitor test performance, yield, cycle time, and equipment utilization.
• Establish preventive maintenance and calibration programs for test equipment.

1.3 Yield Improvement & Failure Analysis

• Analyze test yield trends and identify root causes of failures.
• Lead cross-functional teams in corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce test escapes and improve product quality.
• Review and approve failure analysis reports and containment actions.

1.4 New Product Introduction (NPI)

• Support NPI activities from concept through mass production.
• Review product testability and manufacturing requirements.
• Ensure test solutions are developed, validated, and released on schedule.
• Coordinate with design, quality, and manufacturing teams during product launches.

1.5 Test Equipment & Software Management

• Oversee development and maintenance of test hardware and software.
• Manage test fixtures, instruments, automation systems, and data collection platforms.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
• Review and approve test sequence modifications and software releases.

1.6 Quality & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with ISO, customer requirements, and internal quality standards.
• Support customer audits and certification activities.
• Implement robust change management processes for test systems.
• Drive data-driven decision-making through regular performance reviews.

1.7 Project & Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, and customers.
• Manage test engineering projects, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Provide regular status updates to senior management.
• Support strategic planning and technology roadmap development

Qualifications:

• Minimum Diploma or Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Previous experience as Electronic Process Principal Engineer/Electronic Engineer Supervisor or similar role (At least 5 years experience to Electronic related field)
• Familiar with SPC, PFMEA, QCC and other processes and quality analysis methods, familiar with IATF16949 or GMP system
• Familiar the improvement and perfection of electronic product technology, tooling, and fixture
• Familiar with electronic product patch and plug-in technology
• Able to lead the large-scale of improvement (which have include many departments)
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Good communication, ability to present data effectively, analyse and problem solving skills
• Good command of verbal and written Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision
• Able to work in a fast paced environment
• Willing to learn and explore and team player
• Computer literacy, familiar with Microsoft Office

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
