Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Research and Development Software Engineer role based in Simpang Ampat. The role involves designing, developing, and testing software components for automation and machine vision solutions, including algorithms for image processing, data analysis, and system integration. The engineer will collaborate with hardware, QA, and project teams to translate customer requirements into robust software features and troubleshoot issues in deployed systems. Daily activities include coding, code reviews, documentation, performance optimization, and participation in prototyping and pilot deployments. The role also requires continuous learning to incorporate new technologies and methods that enhance system reliability and speed.
Qualifications
- Strong programming skills in languages commonly used for machine vision and automation (e.g., C/C++, Python, C#, or similar), and experience with software development tools and version control.
- Knowledge of machine vision, image processing, or computer vision frameworks and libraries, and familiarity with automation systems or industrial control environments.
- Ability to analyze requirements, design software architectures, and apply solid problem-solving and debugging skills to complex technical issues.
- Experience with testing, documentation, and maintenance of production-grade software, including writing clean, well-structured, and reliable code.
- Relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering and customer-facing teams.
- Willingness to work on-site in Simpang Ampat and engage with real-world industrial applications; prior exposure to semiconductor or manufacturing environments is an advantage.
- Curiosity and interest in R&D, with a mindset for continuous improvement, learning new technologies, and contributing ideas to product innovation.
