Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer (Manufacturing) role based in Kedah, Malaysia. The Mechanical Engineer will design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and manufacturing systems that support CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and stamping operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and reviewing engineering drawings, performing design calculations, optimizing manufacturing processes for quality and efficiency, and collaborating with production, quality, and procurement teams. The role involves participating in new product introduction, troubleshooting technical issues on the shop floor, coordinating with suppliers and customers on technical requirements, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Mechanical Engineer will also contribute to project planning, documentation, and compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with experience in manufacturing environments and industrial machinery.
- Proficiency in Machine Design and mechanical systems development, including components, tooling, and fixtures.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for 2D/3D modeling, drafting, and design optimization.
- Ability to manage projects effectively, including planning, scheduling, cross-functional coordination, and documentation.
- Experience in Research and Development (R&D), including prototyping, design validation, and process improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and stamping is an advantage.
- Knowledge of quality control practices, lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies is beneficial.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse technical and operational teams.
