Job Description

• Industry/ Organization Type: Maritime Logistics and Shipbuilding
• Position Title: Marine Structural Engineer
• Working Location: Tai Seng
• Working Hours: 5 days (Mon – Fri, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Flexible hours arrangement available)
• Salary Package: Basic Salary + VB + Medical Benefits
• Duration: Permanent Role

Key Responsibilities

• Review contracts, technical drawings, and equipment specifications to ensure design requirements are met.
• Ensure design and engineering production drawings are completed on time for awarded projects.
• Liaise with designers, classification societies, vendors, and clients to ensure new build, ship repair, and conversion specifications are met.
• Read design drawings and interpret them based on classification rules and maritime regulations.
• Respond to technical comments in writing, prepare proposed solutions, and provide drawing remarks for follow-up with relevant parties.
• Prepare production drawings based on classification-reviewed drawings or drawings issued by clients.
• Prepare drawings and calculations such as general arrangement, outfitting drawings, lifesaving arrangement, structural strength calculations, block construction plans, weight calculations, weight control, and structural lifting arrangements.
• Support the commercial team in tender exercises for new build, ship repair, and conversion projects by preparing basic design concepts aligned with tender requirements.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Perform any other duties assigned

• Diploma / Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of engineering experience in marine or offshore structural works.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
• Able to understand and interpret marine structural drawings, meet technical specifications, and discuss technical matters with clients.
• Good analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to travel overseas for technical meetings when required.
