Job Summary

ViswaLab seeks a Fuel Oil Testing Analyst to perform laboratory testing, ensure equipment readiness, handle hazardous waste safely, and maintain accurate test data for marine fuel oil analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory operations in assigned areas and report any equipment malfunctions or abnormalities promptly.
• Handle and store hazardous waste according to the Hazardous Waste Plan to ensure safety and compliance.
• Check equipment readiness for assigned test methods and perform quality control tests as required.
• Enter quality control and routine test results accurately into the SQC system, datasheets, or LIMS.
• Homogenize fuel samples and subdivide them for testing across various test benches
• Perform routine testing on assigned test benches following standard operating procedures
• Follow all Safety and Health policies and test procedures to maintain a safe working environment
• Request solvents, chemicals, and sample retrievals through the Sample Management System to support testing activities
• Prepare and label test tubes and test jars needed for laboratory tests
• Oversee the sample homogenization process to ensure sample consistency
• Collaborate with team members and perform other ad hoc duties as assigned

Required competencies and certifications

• Diploma in Chemistry or a related field
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) accurately
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Willingness and ability to work night shifts
