Fresh Up Group Limited Hiring! Full Time Senior Hardware Engineer in Hong Kong - Ricebowl

FreshUp is the largest smart vending machine solution provider in Hong Kong. We own and operate 4000+ vending machines, and are now seeking a highly experienced Senior Hardware Engineer to oversee the full lifecycle of our smart vending machine fleet and IoT hardware infrastructure.

In this role, you will be the technical owner responsible for the end-to-end management of our hardware systems—spanning early-stage development, deployment, continuous performance monitoring, technology upgrades, and hardware lifecycle replacement. You will bridge the gap between hardware engineering and technical operations to ensure maximum system reliability, scalability, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Own the full technical lifecycle of our smart vending machine fleet, seamlessly bridging the gap between hardware R&D and field operations;

• Lead the design, sourcing, and evaluation of core hardware components, including smart mainboards, telemetry modules, touch displays, and electromechanical systems;

• Oversee the integration of cashless payment gateways, scanning modules, and secure communication hardware into decentralized terminal devices;

• Establish and manage hardware performance monitoring frameworks, analyzing device telemetry and log data to maximize machine uptime;

• Standardize technical protocols for preventative maintenance, hardware troubleshooting, and obsolete component replacement;

• Partner with external manufacturers and component suppliers to ensure quality control, resolve hardware defects, and secure component longevity;

• Work closely with internal software, firmware, and operations teams to optimize hardware-software compatibility and streamline field deployments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline;

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in in hardware engineering, IoT system integration and design;

• Experience with kiosks or vending machines is highly preferred;

• Hands-on proficiency with hardware diagnostic tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters) and a strong capability in root-cause analysis for hardware failures;

• Strong project management abilities, an analytical mindset, and the capacity to coordinate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
