Job Summary

Are you passionate about robotics, technology, and hands-on learning? We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Freelance Robotics Instructors to guide children through engaging robotics and coding activities using LEGO WeDo and/or LEGO Mindstorms EV3 kits.

In this programme, students learn basic robotics, engineering, and coding concepts while building and programming their own robots to complete fun challenges. Lessons focus on developing problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork through hands-on experimentation.

This role is ideal for students, graduates, educators, or tech enthusiasts who enjoy working with children aged 6–12 and sharing their interest in robotics and STEM learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging robotics lessons: Guide students through building and programming robots using LEGO WeDo and/or EV3 Mindstorms kits.
  • Support hands-on learning: Help students experiment with robot designs, motors, and sensors while completing guided challenges.
  • Teach basic coding and robotics concepts: Introduce ideas such as sequencing, logic, simple programming, and mechanical design.
  • Encourage problem-solving: Support students as they test, troubleshoot, and improve their robot builds.
  • Maintain a safe and structured classroom: Ensure equipment is used responsibly and students remain engaged in the session.
  • Collaborate with the team: Work with programme coordinators and fellow instructors to ensure smooth lesson delivery.

Key Requirements

  • Experience with LEGO WeDo and/or LEGO Mindstorms EV3 kits
  • Interest in robotics, engineering, or coding
  • Enjoy working with children and supporting hands-on learning
  • Responsible, organised, and confident leading small groups
  • Willing to travel to various school locations across Singapore
  • Willing to undergo a background check (required for school settings)
  • Able to commit to weekly CCA sessions for a minimum of 6 months (excluding school holidays)

Additional Skills & Experience (Preferred but not required)

  • Prior experience teaching robotics or STEM activities for children
  • Familiarity with Scratch-based programming or block coding
  • Background in engineering, robotics, computer science, or education

Interview & Selection Process

Candidates will undergo a 3-stage interview process:

  • Initial Screening (Video Call) – Short virtual interview and discussion
  • Face-to-Face Session & Trial Lesson Segment – Deliver a short demo activity
  • Tryout Class (Final Review) – Conduct a supervised class session

Training Provided

Lesson materials, curriculum guidance, and instructor training will be provided.
