The Account Executive is responsible for managing daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting project accounting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. The role also supports financial reporting, cash flow management, and month-end closing.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain full sets of accounts, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial records.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Process accounts payable, including supplier payments, staff claims, and reconciliations.
- Manage accounts receivable, customer invoicing, collections, aging reports, and account reconciliations.
- Support project accounting by monitoring project costs, budgets, progress billings, and profitability.
- Perform bank reconciliations, monitor cash flow, maintain petty cash, and process banking transactions.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Support taxation, statutory compliance, audits, and liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, and regulatory authorities.
- Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and asset verification.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and proper financial documentation.
- Assist with finance-related administrative duties and process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualifications are an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of accounting experience.
- Experience in construction, engineering, infrastructure, or property development is preferred.
- Experience in project accounting is an advantage.
- Fresh graduates with strong academic results may be considered for junior roles.
Knowledge & Skills
- Good understanding of financial reporting standards, taxation, budgeting, cash flow management, project costing, and bank reconciliation.
- Familiarity with construction accounting, progress billings, subcontractor payments, and cost control is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting/ERP software.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills with high integrity and attention to detail.
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
