About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Migration SME & Discovery Lead to lead enterprise-scale data center and cloud migration initiatives for a leading multinational client. This role is ideal for infrastructure professionals with strong expertise in migration planning, discovery, dependency mapping, and migration execution across complex enterprise environments.

You will play a key role in driving migration strategy, discovery activities, wave planning, and cutover execution while collaborating with infrastructure, application, network, and security teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end data center and cloud migration projects.
• Plan and execute migration strategies including Lift & Shift, P2P, P2V, and Rack Migration.
• Develop migration wave plans, cutover schedules, rollback strategies, and migration runbooks.
• Conduct application discovery, dependency mapping, and impact analysis.
• Identify migration risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, application, network, security, and business stakeholders throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Support migration assessments and recommend appropriate migration approaches.
• Ensure migration activities align with security, disaster recovery (DR), business continuity planning (BCP), and governance requirements.
• Prepare migration documentation, status reports, and executive updates.
• Drive continuous improvement and best practices for migration delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10–12 years of experience in Infrastructure, Data Center, or Cloud Migration projects.
• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise Data Center and Cloud Migration execution.
• Experience with:
• Lift & Shift migrations
• Physical-to-Physical (P2P)
• Physical-to-Virtual (P2V)
• Rack Migration
• Strong knowledge of migration wave planning, cutover planning, and rollback strategies.
• Experience managing enterprise infrastructure including:
• VMware
• Nutanix
• Hyper-V
• Physical Servers
• Strong operating system knowledge:
• Windows
• Linux
• Solaris
• AIX
• IBM AS/400
• HP Tandem
• IBM Z Series Mainframe
• Good understanding of:
• Storage & Backup solutions
• DNS
• Load Balancers
• Firewalls
• Knowledge of Security, Identity & Access Management (IAM), Disaster Recovery (DR), and Business Continuity Planning (BCP).
• Experience with Application Dependency Mapping, Discovery processes, and migration assessment tools.
• Experience with Discovery42 is an added advantage.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and project coordination skills.
