Job Description

Responsibilities

[What the role is]

Student Development Executive (SDE), Community Service & Leadership, plays a vital role in the growth and development of learners in NYP. He/she takes on the design and implementation of a variety of student development activities that will enhance learners’ ability to acquire leadership and life skills and looks after the governance of student organisations. As a life coach, he/she fosters the development of our learners holistically via co-curricular activities (CCAs) and mentors student leaders throughout the year.

[What you will be working on]

  • Develop, implement and evaluate leadership training programmes for students. This includes mentoring processes to ensure that student leaders are well-equipped to fulfil their roles and are able to manage their clubs more effectively.
  • Inspire and mobilise students to actively engage in social causes and community initiatives in line with NYP strategic goals.
  • Supervise and mentor student leaders to manage CCA clubs and deliver community service and leadership programmes aligned with club and department goals.
  • Lead and mentor students for overseas service-learning and leadership programmes, with trip duration up to two weeks.
  • Establish and sustain strategic partnerships with community partners to drive student engagement in service initiatives.
  • Organise and support departmental and institution-wide projects and events.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track programme success and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
  • Perform general administrative duties and related procurement functions for the department.

[What we are looking for]

  • Relevant experience in Education, Service-learning, Leadership Training, Event Management, or Community Service-related fields.
  • Experience in planning and organising community service or leadership programmes.
  • Strong communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to connect and work with youths from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to hone and nurture essential life skills in youths to foster personal growth.
  • Experience in data management, data analysis, building dashboards and knowledge of sustainability issues/sustainability reporting would be advantageous.
