Engineering Technical Lead – Crypto & Payments | Digital Bank

A leading digital bank is seeking a hands‑on Engineering Technical Lead to drive a new portfolio built on blockchain and digital asset technology. This is a rare ground‑floor opportunity to shape engineering culture, build a founding team, and deliver regulated fintech innovation at scale.

What You’ll Do

• Lead delivery across wallets, payments, custody, KYC, and ledger systems.
• Build and grow the founding engineering team, setting standards and ways of working.
• Architect the integration framework to connect with tier‑1 infrastructure partners.
• Make critical build vs buy decisions and guide technical direction.
• Establish an AI‑driven engineering practice with modern tooling, CI/CD, and feature‑flag rollouts.
• Partner with Product, Compliance, and Legal to launch across multiple jurisdictions.

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years in engineering, with 2+ years leading teams in digital banking, payments, crypto, or regulated fintech.
• Proven track record shipping regulated products and on‑chain solutions.
• Strong full‑stack background with architectural decision‑making skills.
• Experience in multi‑vendor orchestration and API‑first environments.
• Skilled at building and managing remote/hybrid teams across time zones.
• Comfortable engaging with regulators and compliance frameworks (MiCA, VARA, MAS DPT, etc.).
• Start-up mindset: hands‑on, adaptable, and driven to ship.
