Stalwart Marine is seeking an experienced Head of Naval Architecture / Senior Naval Architect to lead our Naval Architecture & Designs Department. This role is responsible for overseeing vessel design and engineering activities from concept through construction while managing and mentoring the design team.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Naval Architects, Designers, Draftsmen, Production Team, Mechanical Team, and Management to ensure projects are delivered on time, within specification, and in compliance with applicable standards.

What We're Looking For
- Extensive hands-on experience in naval architecture, vessel design, or shipbuilding.
- Advanced proficiency in Rhino3D or equivalent marine design software.
- Practical experience with Maxsurf Stability, Maxsurf Modeller, and Maxsurf Resistance.
- Proven track record of delivering vessel design projects from concept to construction.
- Strong leadership experience managing or supervising a design or engineering team.
- Strong understanding of vessel construction methods, production processes, and fabrication requirements.
- Experience preparing General Arrangements (GA), construction drawings, production drawings, and technical documentation.
- Good knowledge of stability calculations and applicable marine standards and classification requirements (AMSA, ISO, RINA, or equivalent).
- Ability to coordinate effectively with production personnel, contractors, surveyors, clients, and suppliers.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Naval Architecture Department, including supervising Naval Architects, Designers, and Draftsmen, assigning work, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule and to the required quality standards.
- Oversee the complete vessel design process from concept development to construction, including 3D modelling, General Arrangements (GA), construction drawings, production drawings, stability calculations, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and classification requirements.
- Work closely with the Production Team, Mechanical Team, contractors, surveyors, clients, and management to resolve technical issues, support vessel construction, obtain plan approvals, and ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide technical leadership by reviewing engineering solutions, mentoring team members, improving design processes, and introducing practical and innovative solutions that enhance engineering efficiency and buildability.
- Support Management in project planning, resource allocation, and any other engineering or departmental responsibilities required to achieve company objectives.
