Position Summary:
The Senior Lecturer is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, research, and academic leadership in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology. The role involves curriculum development, student supervision, research excellence, and active contribution to the Faculty’s academic, scholarly, and industry engagement activities. The incumbent is expected to contribute to the advancement of knowledge through impactful research, innovative teaching, and postgraduate supervision in alignment with the University’s strategic direction.
Job description:
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Computer Science / IT.
- Develop lecture materials, lesson plans, assessments, and examination papers.
- Ensure effective delivery of learning activities aligned with programme outcomes.
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Contribute to curriculum development, review, and programme enhancement.
- Ensure compliance with MQA and academic quality standards.
- Support innovative teaching methods, including digital and blended learning.
- Conduct high-quality research and publish in indexed or high-impact journals.
- Supervise Master’s and PhD students.
- Participate in research grants, conferences, and scholarly activities.
- Engage in industry collaboration, consultancy, and academic partnerships.
- Organise or contribute to seminars, workshops, and short courses in AI, Data Science, and related areas.
- Contribute to faculty committees and academic administration.
- Support student development, mentoring, and academic advising.
- Demonstrate leadership in teaching, research, and service activities.
Requirements:
- PhD in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ teaching or industry experience.
- Strong expertise in AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, Software Engineering, or Web Technologies.
- Proven publication record in reputable indexed journals.
- Experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Programming and software development skills required.
- Experience in curriculum development and postgraduate supervision is an advantage.
- Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
