An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accountant to join a globally recognised FMCG business in Singapore.

What you'll do:

As an Accountant based in Singapore, you will play an integral role within the Finance Team by supporting robust financial accounting practices across the markets. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with colleagues from various departments to ensure seamless month-end closings, maintaining data integrity in financial reports, managing compliance requirements for regional offices, assisting with FP&A tasks, and driving process improvements. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records in SAP systems, supporting statutory audits, preparing management reports, coordinating tax filings, and contributing valuable insights that inform strategic decisions. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also excellent interpersonal skills to foster effective teamwork across functions.

  • Ensure all financial closing and reporting activities for the region are completed accurately and on time by supporting the Assistant Finance Manager as a senior member of the accounting team.
  • Manage compliance and statutory reporting for regional offices including corporate secretarial activities, expense validation, tax filings, audit coordination, and regulatory submissions with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders by providing insightful financial accounting guidance that supports sound decision-making and value-adding initiatives.
  • Assist in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) activities to support business objectives
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance operations by streamlining processes, strengthening controls, and enhancing reporting efficiency through innovative solutions.
  • Perform general ledger accounting activities during month-end and year-end close including drafting journal entries, validating intercompany billings, monitoring prepayments for timely amortisation, and reviewing actual postings to clear accruals.
  • Collaborate with supply chain teams to post monthly logistics accruals and reconcile year-to-date logistics cost listings against statutory profit & loss statements.
  • Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations ensuring accuracy and completeness of provisions and accruals while preparing quarterly schedules for regional and group reporting.
  • Create and maintain annual SAP Internal Orders for all markets in accordance with regional marketing guidance ensuring accurate customer and SKU assignment.
  • Support annual and ad hoc price maintenance in SAP for markets including updating master price lists and validating uploads against issued price lists.

What you bring:

To excel as an Accountant in this organisation's Finance Team, you will bring proven experience from similar roles where you have managed complex financial reporting cycles across multiple jurisdictions. Your background will include hands-on exposure to statutory compliance matters such as tax filings, audit preparation, corporate secretarial duties, as well as deep familiarity with ERP systems like SAP.

  • A university degree in Finance or Accounting is required along with at least six years of experience in the accounting field demonstrating consistent reliability.
  • Possession of a professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent is essential for this position.
  • Demonstrated technical competence with up-to-date knowledge of accounting rules ensures you can deliver accurate results under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams while providing clear guidance on complex issues.
  • A keen analytical mind-set paired with high attention-to-detail allows you to identify discrepancies quickly and maintain data integrity at all times.
  • Experience working cross-functionally is important; however, you should also possess the capability to be self-sufficient when required.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and SAP-to manage large datasets efficiently and support system enhancements.
