Job Description

We are looking for a candidate to fill our Mechanical Engineering position at Gardens by the Bay. Gardens by the Bay is widely recognized as a world-class attraction and within our Gardens, there are specialised mechanical systems such as that for stratification cooling, liquid desiccants, absorption chillers, biomass plant and smoke aspiration.

As part of the Mechanical team, you will be responsible for overseeing the Gardens' operational requirements for both the indoor and outdoor gardens' engineering and facilities, and will manage separate operational systems within the Gardens. You will oversee the daily operations of managing agents and contractors in accordance with contract requirements and schedules, as well as liaise with other departments on the gardens' engineering and facility matters. You will manage project contracts to optimize project/ maintenance costs and ensure operationally viable solutions and maintenance of proper records for the facilities. You will also plan for regular maintenance of facilities and equipment to ensure proper working condition.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 3 - 5 years of relevant facilities management and project management experience in construction works and/ or engineering consultancy, preferably in large retail/ commercial, life-style complexes or similar attractions
• Good knowledge of underground water leak detection, water reticulation system, irrigation and fogging system, and other M&E systems. In-depth experience in water reticulation system, sanitary plumbing, smart metering, fire protection systems and fire safety is an added advantage
• Creative, innovative, and resourceful in implementing cutting edge engineering technologies
• Problem solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
