About the role
MYRT Money is building Ringgit-backed digital payment infrastructure that lets merchants accept digital payments (including crypto-linked value flows) and receive instant settlement in Malaysian Ringgit directly into their bank accounts.
Unlike traditional payment gateways, MYRT focuses on enabling seamless adoption of alternative payment flows without exposing merchants to crypto volatility or operational complexity.
Our mission is to expand merchant acceptance across Malaysia by bridging digital assets, cross-border workers, and local commerce into one unified Ringgit settlement layer.
The near-term focus is merchant acquisition, but the same settlement layer extends across multiple flows: in-store and online acceptance, cross-border value movement, and business payouts. This role is built to grow with that surface area, so we want someone comfortable opening new channels as they emerge, not just running one fixed playbook.
Responsibilities
- Identify, approach, and onboard offline and online merchants (F&B, retail, clinics, lifestyle services, hospitality) to accept MYRT as a payment method.
- Drive acquisition through field sales, direct outreach, partnerships, and referral channels.
- Educate merchants and partners on the MYRT value proposition: instant Ringgit settlement, zero crypto handling, and an expanded customer base from digital and cross-border users.
- Help identify and open new acquisition channels and use cases as MYRT's settlement layer expands beyond in-store acceptance.
- Build and execute a local acquisition strategy based on geography, footfall density, and industry clusters.
- Work closely with product and ops teams to improve onboarding flow, KYC process, and activation rate.
- Conduct competitor mapping against payment gateways (GrabPay, TNG, ShopeePay, Stripe-like PSPs) and position MYRT's differentiation clearly.
- Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting → pitching → negotiation → onboarding → activation.
- Ensure customers are transacting after onboarding, not just signed but active and usage-driven.
- Maintain CRM discipline: pipeline tracking, conversion funnel monitoring, and segmentation.
- Gather feedback and market insights to improve product positioning and GTM strategy.
- Represent MYRT at on-ground activations, industry events, and partnership roadshows.
