What you'll do
Summary Role
- Manager with end-to-end responsibility of people manager and program manager.
- As people manager; Lead and Manage Function and people resources effectively including people development according to Volvo Cars Culture, Core values and Group priorities.
- As Program manager; In early phases, from Annual to , is to lead, collect and secure cross functional product and process manufacturing work within the area of responsibility that is being done in Annual Work and in each car/platform program.
- As Program manager; In later phases, from and onwards, the purpose is to lead, collect and secure Manufacturing Engineering's progression within the area of responsibility. Assure VCME's requirements according to key figures for Manufacturing. Deliver an assured product and process within the area of responsibility to the production units at production start.
Main Tasks
Within Manager responsibility:
- Lead and develop people in a manner driving the Volvo Car Culture, Volvo Car Core Values and Ethical Leadership for Responsible Business, showing trust and integrity Communicate purpose, priorities, expectations and challenges to the employees
- Use the Continuous Alignment and Feedback approach to exchange constructive feedback on behaviours and performance.
- Apply a coaching approach and the Volvo Cars competency model to promote reflection, learning and growing
- Manage company business and people resources effectively.
Within Program Manager of responsibility for the current car/platform program:
- Drives the assignment from Annual to according to plan and according to decided assignment structure.
- Lead the virtual build events
- Coordinates and follows-up the project activities from the involved ME engineers
- Plans all activities for manufacturing including preparation and follow-up of relevant time schedules
- Calculations and has cost responsibility for all M&L costs with exception of launch cost
- Develops and assures FT&E for the program until in accordance with business and program targets, and after assures compliance for F&T budget items
- Develops and assures processing cost in accordance with business targets (Working cost per unit (TF1 time, bulk material)
- Anchors the assignment's decision, development, and status with responsible line managers
- Reports on the assignment's status and forecast to Senior Manager Annual Process, Senior Project Manager
- Manufacturing (Sr PM Mfg.), and TPC-X
- Secures that R&D's solutions are in line with M&Ls prerequisites
- Secures product and process compatibility for the program, including the implementation of established
- process strategies for plants
- Leads and is responsible for the analysis- and verification needs (AVB) and related launch cost
- Quality assures milestone deliverables and reports
- Leads the follow-up of deviations in FLOW
- Leads resolution of ergonomic issues
- Performs manufacturing feasibility studies and sign off process
- Plans and coordinates the preparation work in the plant before building the production process. The work includes the hard changes needed to perform process changes.
- Plans, coordinates, installs, implements and verifies the new production process including tools, facilities and application programs.
- Is active in the Pre-Production Build Events activities at the Plants and verifies the Manufacturing Engineering deliveries.
- Works for process driven product development
Competence and Qualification Requirement
- Associate degree or master’s in business administration, Engineering, or a related field
- >5 years of experience in a Manufacturing engineering related to production solution, commodity and Program / Project Management and people manager. Preferably in the automotive industry.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in English, Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulations is a plus.
