Reporting to: CFFS Global Head of IFM • Finance Operations and A2R

Main Purpose of the Job
The A2R Global Closing & Reporting Solution Expert is a key role within the Global GBS A2R organisation, combining strong Closing & Reporting process expertise with hands-on knowledge of A2R digital close tools (currently BlackLine , transitioning to HighRadius ).
Reporting to the GPL A2R Reporting Manager , this role ensures the efficient, reliable, and compliant preparation and submission of financial statements and Group/local statutory reporting. The Solution Expert also serves as the Level 2 Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the digital close solution, translating business requirements into robust system configurations while acting as the key interface between Reporting teams, operational A2R teams, Digital/ITS, vendors, and end users.
By driving quality, innovation, and digitalisation across the Closing & Reporting process, the role aims to:
Ensure accurate and timely close and reporting execution with full Core Model and SOX compliance.
Provide Level 2 functional and technical support for digital close tools.
Drive continuous improvement, standardisation, and user adoption through training and enablement.
Key Activities
1. Closing & Reporting Process Execution & Compliance
Ensure efficient and reliable preparation and submission of financial statements and Group/local mandatory reporting.
Review and monitor technical process implementation, controls, and compliance across all Closing & Reporting activities.
Ensure entities are operationally ready at CHLOE Day with a robust close calendar.
Safeguard compliance with Group/local standards, internal controls, and SOX.
Core Outcome: Accurate, timely, and compliant financial close and reporting.
2. Operational Support & Ticket Management
Act as Level 2 support for digital close tools via ServiceNow.
Resolve incidents and change requests while enabling administrators and end users to resolve recurring issues independently.
Escalate issues to Level 3/ITS with clear documentation where required.
Monitor ticket trends and proactively identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
Core Outcome: Stable operations and responsive user support.
3. System Administration & Maintenance
Perform system configuration and maintenance, including GL imports, account setup, and master data management.
Maintain data integrity, monitor system jobs, and ensure operational stability.
Manage user access, licences, and configurations in line with the Core Model.
Core Outcome: Reliable, well-controlled systems aligned with the Core Model.
4. Process Harmonisation & Continuous Improvement
Drive standardisation of Closing & Reporting processes and challenge local deviations through strong governance.
Ensure process documentation (Levels 1–5) remains current and accurate.
Gather improvement opportunities, assess impacts across process, data, and systems, and support implementation.
Collaborate with ITS and vendors to enhance digital close solutions, including the BlackLine to HighRadius transition.
Core Outcome: Simplified, harmonised, and continuously improving processes.
5. Training, Enablement & Adoption
Design and deliver training sessions, demonstrations, and train-the-trainer programmes.
Develop and maintain user guides and training documentation.
Support onboarding of new countries and users while building administrator and end-user capability.
Core Outcome: High system adoption and increased user autonomy.
6. Project & Rollout Support
Serve as the key contact for assigned rollouts and support administrators during implementation.
Coordinate System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Track issues, drive resolutions, and provide post-go-live hypercare support.
Core Outcome: Smooth, standardised system rollouts.
7. Governance, Control & Reporting
Maintain audit-ready documentation covering access management, system changes, and controls.
Monitor and report Closing KPIs and system usage.
Identify risks proactively, enforce controls, and support internal and external audits.
Core Outcome: Audit-ready governance with transparent reporting.
Key Positioning of the Role
The role combines four key responsibilities:
Reporting Process Expert – Ensures reliable and compliant financial close and reporting.
Solution Expert (Level 2) – Maintains, supports, and enhances digital close tools.
Continuous Improvement Driver – Standardises, simplifies, and optimises processes.
Business Connector – Partners with Reporting teams, ITS, vendors, and end users to deliver effective solutions.
Expected Skills
Experience
Proven hands-on experience in General Ledger Accounting and/or Closing & Reporting, preferably within an international and multicultural environment. (Essential)
Experience supporting software implementation projects. (Advantageous)
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Strong accounting background. (Essential)
Knowledge & Qualifications
Essential
Experience with digital/eClose solutions (e.g. BlackLine, HighRadius, Cadency).
Strong knowledge of A2R (Account-to-Report/Record-to-Report) and Closing & Reporting processes.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Fluency in English.
Advantageous
SAP FI/CO end-user experience.
ServiceNow ticket management experience.
Knowledge of SAP/BlackLine ITS architecture, job management, and scheduling.
