Our Client is a Hong Kong-based IT hardware trading company specializing in the secondary market for enterprise technology — including servers, networking equipment, storage systems. They operate across APAC, US, EU, sourcing directly and global supplier networks to serve clients across Asia.
The Role ##NEW headcount##
They are seeking a driven and experienced Procurement professional to join their team. This role is central to their supply chain operations, managing vendor relationships, coordinating cross-border procurement, and ensuring seamless import/export compliance for IT hardware — including sensitive and dual-use equipment.
The Manager level will lead a team of 4–5 procurement staff, providing day-to-day coaching, workflow oversight, and performance development.
Key Responsibilities
Source and procure second-hand IT hardware (servers, switches, routers, storage, end-user devices) from suppliers in overseas markets
Manage the full import/export process, including preparation and verification of trade documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and permits for controlled or sensitive equipment
Ensure compliance with Hong Kong Customs and Excise requirements, HKSAR import/export licensing regulations, and applicable international trade controls (including Strategic Commodities Licensing where relevant)
Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with vendors; maintain and develop a reliable supplier network
Coordinate logistics, overseeing cross-border shipment scheduling and customs clearance
Monitor procurement costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain accurate purchasing records
Liaise with the sales and warehouse teams to align procurement with customer demand and inventory levels
(Manager level) Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4–5 procurement executives and coordinators; set targets, conduct performance reviews, and build team capability
Requirements
Minimum 1+ years of procurement experience in IT hardware trading, electronics trading, or a related import/export business (Manager: 5+ years, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role)
Solid understanding of Hong Kong import/export procedures, including documentation requirements for electronics and sensitive/controlled items
Demonstrated experience handling trade compliance documentation — strategic commodities licences, dual-use goods permits, or equivalent
Knowledge of second-hand or refurbished IT hardware (servers, networking, storage) preferred
Proficiency in Cantonese and English (written and spoken); Mandarin an advantage
Detail-oriented with strong negotiation and communication skills
